Mary Elizabeth Quinn was the daughter of Emily Jane Dobbs Quinn and William Pinckney Quinn. She was married to James William Alexander, Sr (buried Indian Creek Cemetery). She died from complications of childbirth.

She was the granddaughter of Nelson E Dobbs and Sarah Buckaloo Dobbs. Family members (grandchildren) recall her daughter Bessie A Rice locating her grave at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery, it being marked with a fieldstone, but there is no marker remaining. She is supposedly buried near her brother John Quinn and her mother Emily Jane Dobbs Quinn, at the far right corner of the cemetery (close to the woods).

Mother of Jim, Dessa, Bessie, Effie, Robert, Clarence, Clifford and Alfred.
