Don (Donnie) L. Cotant Jr.,52, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away on February 28, 2014 at Portneuf Medical Center, due to complications of Cystic Fibrosis.
Donnie was born in Pocatello, Idaho on July 12, 1961, to Don L. and Faye Petty Cotant. He was the second oldest of five children. He attended Edahow and Chubbuck Elementary, Hawthorne Junior High and graduated from Highland High School in 1979. He attended Rick's College for one year.
He married Sherry Palmer on October 16, 1993. Donnie worked for Powers Candy and Canteen as a delivery man. Through this employment, he made many long lasting friends.
Due to complications of CF, he was not able to work for the last 15 years. However, in 2005, Donnie received a double lung transplant at the University Utah Medical Center. Due to this transplant, Donnie was given another 7 good years of life because of the efforts Dr. Kay Hill and the transplant team as well as the donor. The family wants to thank Dr. Bill Brydon for all of the services he gave to Robert, Curtis & Donnie for preserving their lives; and Dr. David Perry for his years of help for Donnie in seeing that he received the best care for these last few years.
Thanks to the staffs at the U of U and Portneuf Medical center for their patience and loving care during Donnie's different stays in their hospitals.
