Bernard Sampson
Bernard H. Sampson, 72, of Mount Zion, Calhoun County, died Thursday, June 16, 1988 at his home following a short illness.
He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Wilbur [should be William H. Sampson) and Eva Kerby [should be Craddock, not Kerby] Sampson. He was a former employee of Wilson Saw Mill, the West Virginia Department of Highways and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Delta Kerby Sampson; two sons, Robert Sampson of Mount Zion and Roger O. Sampson of Burning Springs; two daughters, Eva Geraldine Little of Mount Zion and Bertha Louise Garwood of Parkersburg; three brothers, Lovell Sampson of Grantsville, Wilbur Sampson of Spencer and Roscoe Sampson of North Carolina; one sister, Gladys Wagner of Spencer; two half brothers, Darrell Sampson and Gerald Sampson, both of Grantsville; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, two daughters and one brother.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with the Rev. Fred Nichols officiating. Burial was in the Gibson Cemetery.
