Passed away peacefully at Seeley's Bay Retirement Home in his 96th year surrounded by the love of his family on February 25, 2014, John (Jack) Christopher Abrams was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Anna Juanita (Weir). Also predeceased by his parents, John and Maude (Greenizen), sisters Bertha Cochrane and Hazel Cowan, brothers Bryce and Keith and a great grandson. Much loved father of Dick Abrams (Nancy) and Carole Johnston (Melvyn). Cherished grandfather of Tammy Johnston (Roland), Jackie Baker, Eric Johnston (Linda), Bart Johnston (Gloria),Tina Bailey (Mike) Jonathan Abrams (Kelly), David Abrams (Carolien), Jennifer Abrams and eight great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by sister in law Gloria McNeill, sister and brother in law Wanda and Ronald Garrah, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Tompkins Funeral Home, 63 Garden St Gananoque on Thursday February 27th 2-4pm and 7-9pm with a Masonic Service at 6:45pm. A service of Celebration of Life will take place at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Middle Road, Kingston on Friday February 28th at 2pm. Interment to follow in the spring. Jack's family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff at KGH for their attentiveness to his needs during the past two weeks and to the staff and management at the Seeley's Bay Retirement Home for their support and love while Jack was part of their family over the past two years. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's Presbyterian Church, Willowbank Cemetery, or a charity of your choice.
