Patricia Joyce Aasheim, age 77, of Bellingham, went home to her Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 21, 2009.
She was born February 23, 1931 in Newport, Kentucky to Ernest and Glennis (Baker) Kiser. She spent many years living in the Cincinnati, OH area. After moving to Bellingham at 18, Pat worked for Wahl's Department Store and as a bookkeeper for Ershigs, Dahl Fish, Saga Foods and Housing for then Western Washington State College.
She volunteered and worked as a nurse's aide at the county infirmary before becoming a probation officer for the Whatcom County courts. Pat worked for many years in her own agency as a chemical dependency evaluator and counselor for the local courts until retiring in 2000. She also served on the board of directors for the Lighthouse Mission with special interest in the Agape House.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Glennis Kiser, and sister, Chylena Kvam.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lloyd Aasheim; children, Andrea Wallace, Steven (Donna) Aasheim and Brenda Aasheim; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Cox; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church at 3605 Bennett Dr., Bellingham WA 98225.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 2:00 pm at Bethel Lutheran Brethren Church in Bellingham.
