David way born December 25, 1928 in Cambridge City. He was the son of the late John and Ada Hicks. He has resided in Milton and Cambridge area all his life. He served his country in the Air Force of the United States, serving in the Korean War. He worked in the bridge construction area and for many other firms, including the JS Sweet, DeBolt and Ben D Construction. David was a life member of the American Legion Post 169 and a member of the VFW and the Forty and 8th. He loved the outdoors hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms and asparagus. He enjoyed sharing time with his family. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially hot rolls for friends and family.
Survivors include his sons Scott, Robert (Porky) and fiancee Nicole of Milton; granddaughters Tisha fiancee David of Indianapolis, Antistacia fiancee Justin of Indianapolis, Emily, Mary Jane and grandson Addison of Milton; great-grandchildren Szander, Isaac Christopher, Xane and Cane; nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary (Janie Keiser) Hicks, his twin brother James and brothers John, Jessie (Hicky) and a sister Mary.
Calling and services will be at the Milton Christian Church, South Central Ave. , Milton, IN
with Pastor Tom Cici officiating. Burial will be at Valley Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 AM till 1:00 PM Friday, December 31, 2010 with the service following at 1:00 PM. There will be military services at the cemetery.
