A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Michael Raymond Worthington will be held at 2 pm Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 12:30 until time of the service. Interment with graveside service will be 3 pm Friday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Groves, Texas.
Mr. Worthington was born on September 13, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas and departed from this life peacefully on Wednesday morning February 26, 2014 at his home in Denham Springs, LA surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 78 years.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a retired Field Inspector Supervisor with Kellogg, Brown and Root. He was a graduate of Bishop Byrne High School of Port Arthur, Texas (Class of 1954) and served in the National Guard.
He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his true passion for making everyone feel special and loved; especially his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years Helen Hebert Worthington, daughter Kathleen Laura Worthington, sons: David Ashley Worthington, Virgil Paul Worthington and wife Denilda, Michael Kyle Worthington and wife Kara, Mark Edward Worthington and wife Trudy. Sister Steven Worthington Flores, brothers: David, Leslie, and Jeff Worthington.
Grandchildren: Jason Worthington, Christy Worthington, Virgil Paul Worthington II, Amanda Falcon, Chase Worthington, Lauren Gilliam, Kaci Pogue, Mason Worthington, Sydney Worthington, Brooke Worthington Lowrie, and Paige Worthington Lowrie.
He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
