They were blessed with seven children, David Robert Lohman and Pat of Forest City, Iowa, Marianne Patricia Snowden and Dr. Thomas of Charleston, Gary Alan Lohman and Diane of LaQuinta, California, Jeffrey Michael Lohman and Faye of Indian Wells, California, Guy Sherman Lohman and Jane of Danbury, Wisconsin, Christopher Ray Lohman and Tari of Country Club, Missouri, Tod Alexander Lohman and Deb of New Ulm, Minnesota; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Peterson of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; and a sister-in-law, Julie Lohman of Tucson, Arizona. Bob was a United States Navy Veteran who faithfully served his country during World War II aboard the USS Tillman. He and Ann made their home in New Ulm, Minnesota where Bob was employed for 26 years by Herberger's Department Store as a manager and buyer, and served on its Board of Directors for three years. He was active in the Episcopal Church and served as both Junior and Senior Warden.

New Ulm was a community to which he was extremely devoted and generously gave of his time and talents. He was an active member of the New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, serving 2 terms as President of the Retail Division and 2 terms as Vice President of its Board of Directors. He was President of the New Ulm Business District and devoted 9 years as Chairman of the Retail Parking Committee. He enjoyed a16 year tenure on the Board of Directors of the New Ulm Foundation (3 years as Director) and sat on the Advisory Board of the Lorretto Hospital for 10 years and serving on its Finance Committee. The community benefited from his membership and time served as President of the New Ulm Lions Club as well as his contribution as District Advancement chairman for the Boy Scouts where he also served as needed for Eagle Scout reviews. New Ulm is the site for several festivals throughout the year and Bob graciously co-chaired the Polka Days Festival drawing over 3,000 visitors to the community.

Following retirement Bob spent his time in Tucson, Arizona where he enjoyed golfing; playing cards and bingo; building dollhouses; and volunteering as the resident handyman in the retirement village where he lived. It was obvious that Bob enjoyed helping others and was an extremely social individual. He never knew a stranger and could converse with anyone. He will be dearly missed by his family who treasure many fond memories of special times shared.
