Florence J. Mangan, 73, died of natural causes Monday at her home in Hungry Horse.

She was born June 2, 1912, in Spokane, to Alf and Jennie Alexander. She was reared and educated in Spokane.

On July 16, 1949, she married Dan Mangan in Whitefish. The couple made their home in Hungry Horse since 1949.

Mrs. Mangan enjoyed outdoor activities. She was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church in Columbia Falls and the VFW Auxiliary in Hungry Horse.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepson.

Survivors include her husband, Dan, Hungry Horse; five stepchildren, Marion Blandy, Portland, Ore; Pat Herberholz, Rosemary Miller and John Mangan, all of Spokane; and Dick Mangan, Bellevue, Wash.; two brothers, Roy Alexander, Spokane, and Glenn Alexander, Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Kay Conboy, Spokane; and numerous grandchildren.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Richard’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home in Spokane. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane. Local arrangements are by Van Leuven Funeral Home in Columbia Falls.
