Charley Albert "Chuck" Larsen, age 85, of Helena passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at his home in Helena.
Charley was born in Hamilton, Montana October 13, 1925 to Frank and Margaret (Baumbauer) Larsen. He attended schools in Helena and joined the United States Army serving during World War II. Charley remained in the Army reserves and retire as a Chief Warrant Officer.
Charley and Charlotte Ann Williams were married July 24, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Helena. He was employed by Scott Typewriter in Helena for 25 years; Davis Business Machines for 10 years and most recently a greeter at Walmart for 10 years.
Charley enjoyed people and keeping active. "Chuck was a hard working and generous man who provided for everyone close to him. He was selfless of his time for people in need, always willing to lend his knowledge and time to them. He seemed to know everyone in Helena. He liked everyone and was well liked by them." He enjoyed his family, fishing, bowling, woodworking, dancing, poker, hunting and live action Keno. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Helena; a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars; a life member of the Reserve Officers Association of the United States; Loyal Order of the Moose; American Legion; Sons of Norway; Fraternal Order of the Eagles; Handyman Club of America; a Charter member of the WWII Museum and was an active member for years of the Lewis & Clark Veterans Council providing military burial detail for our deceased veterans.
Charley was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Charlotte in 2000; two brothers, Glen A. Larsen and Joseph Whyte; sister, Margaret M. Whyte.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene A. Dwyer of Helena; grandsons, Jason C.J. Larsen and his wife Penny, David A. Larsen; all of Helena; great grandson, Austin S.C. Larsen; brother, William Whyte, Jr. of Helena; sister, Fern M. (Larsen) Bugbee of Helena; five nieces and five nephews.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28th at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be noon Wednesday, December 29th at the First Baptist Church on the corner of 8th Ave. and Warren. A reception will immediately follow in the Social Center of the church.
