Al Beasley, 73, of the Hillview Community passed away Monday, February 24, 2014, at Ogeechee Area Hospice after an extended illness.

Al was born to the late Roscoe and Mae Deriso Beasley of Metter.

A 1958 Metter High School graduate, he had served in the National Guard. After enjoying a long career, he retired from Metter Ford Company in 2005. He was a deacon at Rogers Baptist Church and served as a Gideon in the Metter camp.

Al enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing and singing southern gospel music.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Doris Beasley Claxton and Frank Claxton; a brother, Charles Beasley; a brother-in-law, Robert Jones.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 2:00 pm, at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Cobbtown Chapel, with Rev. Gerald Dorr and Rev. Steve Kimbrell officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery.
