Rites Friday For Lucian Chewning
Lucian C. Chewning, 76, died yesterday at noon at his home in the Chancellorsville neighborhood in Spotsylvania County. He was born in Orange County but moved to Spotsylvania when a boy and lived there all his life.
He was a member of Eley's Ford Baptist Church.
In 1890 he married Annie D. Dulin, who died two years ago.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. O. L. Smith and Miss Ethel Chewning, both of Brock Road; four sons, Leslie H., Varion M., and Andrew B. of Brock Road, and Burtis Chewning of Alexandria; 30 grandchildren and four great grand children.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the home, conducted by the Reverend E. V. Peyton.
