Wayne Leroy Bryan, 85, of Anderson went home to be with his Lord, his wife Wilda and his son, Dan on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at Vermillion Place in Anderson, surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle, but most of all he was a Christian example to all that knew him.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1928 in Marion, the son of Alfred and Flora (Ice) Bryan. He attended Fairmount Schools. On July 23, 1948 he married Wilda (Harris) Bryan, who preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2011. He was employed as a tool and die maker with General Motors for 33 years, retiring on April 1, 1995. Prior to this he worked for C and O Railroad and loved to share those stories.

Wayne began his walk with Christ at 31st Street Church of Christ in 1948. He was instrumental in forming a new congregation called Hillcrest Church of Christ, which grew to be Lindberg Road Church of Christ, where Wayne served as an elder for many years. Wayne's favorite past times were fishing, traveling with Wilda, Cincinnati Reds Baseball and watching his grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include three daughters, Gloria (Jim) Bivens of Nashville, Tenn., Janet (Jerry) Logan and Nancy (Tim) Hunt all of Anderson; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Bryan, Craig Mayes, Jennifer (Jeremy) King, Brooke Savage, Karie (Zack) Owensby, Danny Hunt, Andrew Hunt (Katie Woehnker); great-grandchildren, Natasha, Shelby (Drew Majors), Hayley, MacKenzie, Gabriel, Mia, Masie and Rylie; great-great-grandchildren; Carter and Grant; a sister, Mary Jane Swift, several nieces and nephews including special niece Karen (Tony) McLaughlin and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his three brothers, Bob, Charles and Allen and a sister, Wilma.

Services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26th at 2 p.m. at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Charlie Soden with the burial to follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the arrangements.
