Deliria F. Barela, age 90, passed into the Lords hand, joining her husband, Julian Barela, son, Ruben E. Barela and her parents, José Encarnacion and Eufemia Arguello, on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
Deliria was very dedicated to her family. Deliria was a loving mother and grandmother.
Deliria belonged to the Blue Army, honoring Our Blessed Mother. Deliria enjoyed hosting the brunches for the Blessed Mother, with her friends of the Blue Army. Her hobbies were making rosaries for the missions and quilting.
Deliria is survived by her three daughters, Julianita F. Baier, Inez Barela and Rita Gonzáles, son-in-law, John P. Baier, ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Delfina Sena, Angelica Millwee and Pressie Medina.
A viewing was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., followed by a rosary at 6:30 p.m. The final visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall in Los Lunas, NM at 5:30 p.m. Pallbearers are Wally Miera, Adam Miera, Juan Havens, Julian Barela, Bryan Gonzáles and Stephen Gonzáles. Honorary Pallbearers are Felix Barela, Max Barela, John P. Baier, Arthur L. Havens, Matthew Abeyta, Chris O'Gorman, Alex Silva, Joshua P. Nelson and Daniel Gonzáles.
