Helen was the daughter of Joseph A. and Maud (Williams) Gravatt. She was born Aug. 6, 1907 in Huntington, W. VA. and married George J. Huber Sr. June 16 1934, in South Bend, Indiana. George died June 1, 1973. Surviving are a son, a daughter, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Helen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Monroe Garden Club, Monroe Women's Club, Sawyer Homestead, American Legion Auxiliary, Monroe County Republican Women, Monroe and Frenchtown Senior Citizens and ?River Raisin Chapter 308, Order of the Eastern Star.
She served as president of the former Monroe Council of Garden Clubs and various bridge groups. She was a former member of Monroe Golf and Country Club and Harmony Club of Detroit.
Helen died at Mercy Memorial Hospital , Monroe Sunday where she had been for a week. She had been in poor health for a year. Revs. Dean and Ellen McGormley, pastors of Fiorst Presbyterian Church officated and she was laid to rest in Woodland Cemetery. (bio from obit - js - 8-21-2022)
