Gold Star Mother succumbs at Age 78; Funeral Set for Saturday.

Prophetstown, Feb. 12. -- Mrs. Emily Glass, aged 78, a gold star mother, died at 4 this morning in her home after two and a half months of illness.
The body was removed to the Dudley mortuary and will be returned to the home tomorrow. Funeral services will be held at 2 Saturday afternoon in the Methodist church with the Rev. A.E. Simester officiating. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

Born in Ohio.

Mrs. Glass, whose maiden name was Emily Morgan Hendee, was born Oct. 11, 1863, at Mechanicsburg, O., the daughter of Samuel and Mary Elizabeth Mathews Hendee. She was educated in he schools of Tama, Ia.

On Nov. 24, 1881, she was married to Benjamin M. Glass of Panola, Ill, in that village. They resided there sixteen years and came to Prophetstown forty-five years ago. Mr. Glass died June 16, 1913.
Mrs. Glass was a member of the Rebekah lodge, American Legion auxiliary and the Methodist church.

Leaves Six Children.

Survivors include three sons, Arthur E. Glass of Freeport, B. F. Glass of Prophetstown and Robert Glass of Buda; three daughters, Mrs. D.G. Winans of Amboy, Mrs. J. W. Hoban of Chicago and Mrs. Henry Sand of Prophetstown; also a sister, Mrs. Mary Frances Gallagher of Chicago.

Two sons, Perry and Harry Earl, who died in a hospital in France during the Word war, three sisters and her husband preceded Mrs. Glass in death.
