Leni divorced in August 1915, and she married Charles H. Baker on September 16, 1916 in Neosho, MO. She lived in Neosho all of her married life.

The following obituary is from The Neosho Times, June 23, 1927:

Also from the newspaper:

DEATH OF MRS. CHARLES BAKER
Mrs. Charles Baker died at her home, 907 Randolph street, Thursday evening, following a long illness.

Mrs. Baker was the mother of Vera Nalley, one of the teachers at Field school.

Funeral services are to be held this afternoon, with burial in Cedar Creek cemetery. Rev. Huston, pastor of the Second Baptist church, will be in charge of the services.

The Neosho Times Saturday, June 18, 1927

Note: The death of the children did occur in 1899, as evidenced by newspaper articles. The story was picked up nationally. It is believed that the three children are also buried at Cedar Creek cemetery, although, as with Leni, there is no stone. Edna Lett Stauffer wrote in a 1964 narrative about the Lett family, that "Lena" was buried in Cedar Creek Cemetery by the side of her 3 children, who had been burned and were buried there years before.

Missouri Death Certificate

Note: Leni's death certificate states her year of birth as 1870. The death certificate was informed by her second husband, Charles Baker.
