Harold A. Klein, 94, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on February 15, 2014. He was born on February 2, 1920 to Henry and Ella Juenke Klein in Tivydale, Texas.

Harold was one of seven children growing up in Kerrville. Harold was confirmed at and was a lifelong member at Zion Lutheran Church in Kerrville. He was in the Army from 1943 to 1945 working in the base post office.

He later worked for himself tending yards. He would stop in at the Bluebell Café, where Sylva was a waitress. She asked him to join her for fried chicken at the city park and the rest is history. He married Sylva Ann Otis on September 17, 1959 in her home town of Antigo, Wisconsin.

Harold went to work for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Kerrville as a groundskeeper. After his retirement from the VA hospital he and Sylva moved into the Take-it-Easy RV Resort where he lived happily for 47 years. After 40 years at Take-it-Easy the community dubbed him the "Mayor of Take-it-Easy". In his later years, friends there helped him in many more ways than those of us in the family will ever know. Their kindness and love allowed him to continue to live in his own home until his death. We will always be grateful that he had such wonderful caring people around him. Harold was a hard working, honest, gentle and loving Christian man and a wonderful friend to all.

Harold is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Sylva A. Klein, and his parents, Henry and Ella Klein, his sisters, Amelia Agold and Vera Hartman.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his brother, Norman Klein; niece, Virginia Allen; and many others in his extended family.
The family would like to thank the community of Take-it-Easy RV Resort for their love and care of Harold over the years and especially throughout this final chapter of his life.

In lieu of floral tributes you may donate in Harold's honor to the charity of one's choosing.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the Take-it-Easy RV Resort Recreation Hall, 703 Junction Hwy. Kerrville, Texas 78028
