Ravada Olive Wesley, 75, went to be with the Lord Sept. 30, 2005. She was born Feb. 27, 1930, in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Murray and Edna Lutz Bowser. After 45 years of service, Ravada retired from the City of Norfolk as the financial assistant II. She was also a Notary Public and a member of Fairmount Park United Methodist Church. Ravada was a loving mother who always overexemplified love. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Parmer Wesley; and brother, Reid Bowser. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Dr. Charles Parmer Wesley Jr. and his wife Carol of St. Augustine, Fla., John Murray Wesley and his wife Jenny of Yorktown and Samuel Woodrow Wesley of Chesapeake; three brothers, Doug, Vincent and Elson Bowser; one sister, Patsy Rockwell; and four granddaughters, Kristen, Kayla, Courtney and Caitlin. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, conducted by the Rev. Alan Woodie. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, 818 Norview Ave. Condolences may be made at www.mem.com.
