Funeral Set Saturday for I. C. Adams, Sr., 96
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church for I. C. Adams, Sr., a retired Garland area farmer.
Adams, 96, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital following a long illiness. He was born November 13, 1860 in Lancaster, South Carolina.
He had been a resident of Dallas County for 55 years moving to the Garland area in 1902.
He was married to Miss Mary Jane Williams on December 22, 1887. She preceded him in death.
Serviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lola Wyrick, Garland; Mrs. Irene Kirby, Hale Center; Mrs. Clessie Luther, El Paso; six sons, Clarence Adams and I. C. Adams, Jr., both of Garland; Kell Adams, Eliott Adams, T. B. Adams and M. A. Adams, all of Dallas; three step-sons, Sam Nelson, Elmer Nelson and Dock Nelson; a step daughter, Mrs. Betty Wyrick; 32 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and a great, great-grandson.
The Rev. E. B. Jackson, a retired Methodist minister now living in Grand Prairie and lifetime friend of Adams, will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
His grandsons' will act as pallbearers.
