Former Farmer Dies At Age 92
Services for John Kreiter, 92, of 2504 Davenport Ave., Davenport, will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Runge Chapel, with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today in the mortuary.
Mr. Kreiter, a former member of the Scott County Farm Bureau, died Tuesday morning in Mercy Hospital after an illness of the past week.
He was born in Scott County. Mr. Kreiter married Wilma Mohr there in 1903. The couple had farmed east of Mt. Joy for many years. They retired in 1930 and moved to Davenport. Mrs. Kreiter died in 1959.
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Laura Marie) Wessel, Davenport; Mrs. Lester (Blanche) Baughman, Long Grove; Mrs. Ezra (Thecla) Goins, Linwood, Iowa; and Mrs. Luverne (Josephine) Marti, rural Davenport; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
