Donald Harvey Nunn was born on October 28, 1926 in St. Louis, MO, the 1st of 3 children to James Harvey & Johnnie Vera Nunn. He was baptized & confirmed in the Christian Faith.
Don was raised & graduated from Blewett High School in St. Louis.
During WW II, Don enlisted in the U.S. Army & served with the 82nd Airborne Division out of Ft. Benning, CA. He went on active duty during the Korean Conflict as a Lieutenant.
In September, 1948, Don married his wife of 50 years, Mildred Fay Peeler. They raised 4 children, Belinda, Donald, Sharon & James. They lived in St. Louis, Edgewood, MD, New Orleans, LA & in 1970, they moved to Saratoga, CA.
Don was educated on the G.I. Bill at Harris Teachers' College, University of Wyoming, & the University of MO, graduating w/a BS degree in Chemical engineering. Although trained as a chemical engineer, Don's amiable personality lead him to sales in computer test equipment. He was employed by Data General, Honeywell & Teradyne Corporation; from which he retired in 1988.
At Christmas of 1998, Don was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. He bravely commenced with chemotherapy & then radiation therapy. He was doing well, the therapies notwithstanding, until he died unexpectedly on August 27, 1999. Donald Harvey Nunn died in his sleep at home at 72 years of age.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Mildred, his 4 children, Belinda Anne Chauvin, Donald Charles Nunn, Sharon Vernal & James Craig Nunn. His 6 grandchildren; Zachary, Vernal, Thomas, Daniel, David & Christina Chauvin. His brother Robert T. Nunn & sister; Mary Ann Anderson.
He was loved by all (who) knew him & will be greatly missed.
