John David Burroughs, 87, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013. He was born Aug. 16, 1926 in Allison, Iowa. He met the love of his life, Arlene Snyder, and they were married on Nov. 18, 1945. He served in the US Air Corps during WWII and for many years owned and operated a delivery company in Waterloo, IA and later was a real estate broker. After moving to Overland Park, Kansas he worked for State Beauty Supply where he delivered to all "his ladies". John was an avid golfer and enjoyed following all his favorite teams; Cyclones, Buckeyes, Jayhawks, Chiefs and Royals. Survived by his wife, Arlene, sister Betty Kuhl of Waterloo, Iowa, oldest son Craig and wife Patricia of New Albany, Ohio, daughter Claudia Keh and husband Edwin of Hong Kong and youngest son Clark from San Jose, six Grandchildren; Jenny and husband Ben, Jon, Andrew, John, Josh, Connor and great grandson Gabe. He is preceded in death by brothers Roger and Wendell Burroughs and Grandson Clay Burroughs Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 15, 11:00am at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th St., Overland Park, Kansas 66212, visitation 10-11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Knox Presbyterian Church (www.knoxchurch.org) Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri, www.kccremation.com
