Laurice B. Gaskin

COLUMBIANA ? Laurice B. Gaskin, 67, died at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, where she had been admitted Sunday.

She was born Oct. 4, 1939 in Columbiana, a daughter of Paul and Margaret Marie Gaines Brightwell.

Laurice graduated from Columbiana High School and went to Kent University and then moved to Cleveland, returning to Columbiana in 1988.

She was a member of Grace Church in Columbiana.

A sales clerk for Kauffman?s, she retired October 2005.

Her husband, Alvin Gaskin, whom she married in the spring of 1962, died Feb. 5, 1972.

Surviving are her mother, Margaret Carr of Columbiana, a daughter, Laura Margaret Gaskin of Oakland, Calif.; a son, Alvin Gaskin of Columbus; two sisters, Lynette Carr-Sykes of Oakland, Calif., and Jonelle Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted by Rev. Scott Parker at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Warrick-Kummer Funeral.

Friends may call 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
