Twin brother of Milton E. Ball. He was reportedly, "a tiny man with small hands and feet. Very light sandy brown/blonde hair."

Sep. 1862/Feb. 1863: absent at home sick with surgeon's certificate.
Mar./Apr. 1863: present. Clinton was reported wounded in his side.
Jul. 4, 1863: Captured at Battle of Vicksburg, MS.

Post-Civil War years: Clinton's children got split up. James Ball went to live with a family named the Whites who raised him, and Henry C. Ball went to a local orphanage. This was probably because their mothers, Matilda and Susan had both died.
