HASKELL, Texas - Lora Beatrice Curd, 90, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, in a Knox City, Texas, nursing home.
Services Friday at Trinity Baptist Church with Kenneth Blair officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Curd was born Sept. 4, 1908, in Jones County. She and William Price Curd Sr. were married Jan. 7, 1927, in Jones County. He died March 13, 1975. She was a life-long resident of Jones and Haskell counties and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Home Demonstration Club. Her son, Ben Charlie Curd, died in 1988. Her infant daughter, Dorothy Helen Curd, died in 1944.
Survivors include two sons, William Price "W.P." Jr. of Knox City and James Ira of Graham, Texas; a daughter, Leta B. Curd Sellers of Rule, Texas; three brothers, Frank Garrett of Las Vegas, Nev., Alton Garrett of Abilene, Texas, and Weldon Garrett of Andrews, Texas; two sisters, Ida Farrel of Haskell and Maxine Bolin of Weinert, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
