John Hayes Allen on of them most prominent citizens of Montoursville died on Saturday at his home. He was born 11/20/1921 on the Huling Farm now in South Williamsport. Early in his life he purchased the Henry Collins homestead in Montoursville.
In 1853 he married Elizabeth Wilson daughter of Fleming Wilson of Muncy.
Under the firm name of Allen & Paulhamus he was engaged in lumbering along Loyalsock Creek. In politics he was a Republican & was elected burgess of Montoursville four times.
The funeral occurred tis afternoon with burial in the Washington Street Cemetery.
