Born in Fairview, Quincy Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew and Rosetta (Whitmore) Bakner. She lived all her life in the in Quincy Township and the Waynesboro areas.
She and her late husband, Mr. Sherman A. Diffenbaucher, were married June 16, 1923. Mr. Diffenbaucher died November 12, 1985. Mrs. Diffenbaucher entered assistant living at Quincy United Methodist Home in August 1992 and entered the nursing home May 17, 1995.
She was a homemaker all her life.
Mrs. Diffenbaucher was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. M. Louise (Mrs. Francis) Nogle, Waynesboro, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters, Matilda B. Newcomer and Flo I. Lowry both of Waynesboro and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.
