Orley Poling was born May 28, 1878 in Hocking county, Ohio and died Jan 7, 1944, in Ypsilanti. In his early youth he moved to Van Wert with his parents, where he was married to Miss Ida Heistand (sic) who preceded him in death in 1934. He later lived near Jerome, Mich. He is survived by five sons, William E. Poling of Ypsilanti, Carl A. Poling of Adrian, Ernest C. Poling of Rome, Ohio, Ray O. Poling of Sand Creek, Ward Poling of Adrian, six daughters, Mrs. Ernest Pickford of Jerome, Mrs. Earl Brown of Clayton, Mrs. Clarence Winzeler of Adrian, Laurel Poling of Battle Creek, Mrs. Downing Doll of Jackson, Michigan, and Cleo Poling of Jackson, Michigan. Three brothers and two sisters Mrs. Otto Sheets and Gaylord Poling of Wren, Ohio, Mrs. Elva Wolfcale of Quincy, Mich., Ellery Poling of Coldwater and Valda Poling of Toledo., 51 grandchildren and ..(?) great-grandchildren.

ADDISON Jan. 11 - The funeral of Orley O. Poling who died Friday night in a Ypsilanti hospital was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o clock in the Charles E. Brown & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Francis Sayre officiated. The bearers were relatives of the deceased. The burial was in the North Dover cemetery. Mr. Poling formerly lived near Jerome.
