OTTAWA — Richard E. Fisher, 72, of Ottawa, was escorted into eternal glory by his Savior Monday, Feb. 17, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, while surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa with the Rev. Rodney Juell, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangements are through Mueller Funeral Home.

Richard was born May 4, 1941, in Dixon, to Harold and Mary Ellen (Needham) Fisher. He was in the U.S. Army Reserves. Richard married Donna Hill on May 27, 1960, at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Ottawa.

He retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford in 2003 after 30 years of employment. He was a member of Glassworkers Local 19 and Faith Lutheran Church.

He is survived by wife, Donna; two daughters, Cynthia (Phillip) Rodgers and Christine (Mike) Bathe, both of Normal; three grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Rodgers and Courtney Bathe; a great-grandson; and four sisters, Barbara Jean Woodward, of Ottawa, Donna Mae Murphy, of Ottawa, Carole Thomas, of Ottawa, and Connie (Gerald) Eick, of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronald Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church, Fox River Cancer Center in Ottawa or the donor's choice of charities.
