Mrs. Mary Elvina Pratt, aged seventy-nine years, a resident of Rock county for over half a century, passed peacefully away yesterday afternoon at 2:35 o'clock, at Freeport, Ill.
Mary Elvina Beach was born May 9, 1836, in Shausago (?) county, New York. She came to the west shortly after Wisconsin was made a state and on January 4, 1858, at East Troy, Wis., was united in marriage to Thomas Pratt. In 1868 the family came to Rock county and took up their residence on a farm two miles north of Janesville.
Mr. Pratt and two children preceded Mrs. Pratt in death. Of the family surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lydia Bitters of this city, Mrs. Rhodia Kennedy of Beloit, Mrs. W.B. Tucker of Osage, Iowa, Mrs. Joseph Creek of Leyden, and three sons; William of Beloit and George Pratt of Freeport. There are also fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren surviving...
