She was married to Edgar Wayne Benson, but they later divorced.
She died at the LifeCare Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
She is survived by one sister, Carol Ann Matteson of Washington state and a brother, Eddie LaCroix of Virginia. She was preceded in death by both her parents, a brother, Dennis Jr. and two sisters, Maujeva Overfield and Margaret "Maggie" Steger.
