Harold Eugene Morrill Sr., age 91, of Greeneville, died February 16, 2014 at Tennova Health Care in Knoxville.

He was born October 13, 1922, in Argos, Indiana, a son of the late Herbert and Essie Morrill.

Harold (known by many of his co-workers as "Louie") was an employee of and retiree from the Philips Consumer Electronics Corporation, having started in Ft Wayne, Indiana, and later moving to Greeneville. He was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, a long-time member of the LaRue Bible Class. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army, serving in the Asia-Pacific Theater of operations during WWII. Harold was an excellent woodworker who could frequently be found using the equipment at the Roby Adult center to make something for one of his children, grandchildren or his church. He was an avid walker, logging many thousands of miles; whether it was around Cherrydale Circle, or on the beaches of Siesta Key, where he and his wife enjoyed many winters together. A man of many skills, he was always willing and able to lend a hand to a neighbor with anything around their home that might need attention. Harold also took great pleasure in taking care of his well-manicured lawn and most of all; he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Covington Morrill; his sister: Ruth Ford, and brothers: Gabriel and Carl Morrill.

He leaves one surviving brother, Arthur, of Argos, Indiana. He is survived by one son: Hal E. Morrill and his wife, Trish of Jefferson City, TN; one daughter: Kathy M. White and her husband, Randy of Maryville, TN; grandchildren and spouses: Allison and Curt Russell of Washington D.C., Andrea and Craig Turner of Hendersonville, TN, Meredith and Adam Stashick of The Woodlands, TX, Matthew and April White of Knoxville, TN, and Kelly White of Corryton, TN. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Chandler House in Jefferson City for the care and love shown for Harold over the last three years.

The family will receive friends from 10 - 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1 at Asbury United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. The Reverend Jeannie Higgins will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 5801 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919 or to Asbury United Methodist Church, 201 S. Main Street, Greeneville, TN 37743.
