John C. Odom, 69, passed away July 26, 2001 at Orange Park Medical Center. Born in Sonora, Texas, he moved to Clay County in 1968. Mr. Odom was a retired Master Sargeant serving over 21 years in the U.S. Marine Corp. Following his military career, he was a longtime employee of Orange Park Services. Survivors include his wife, Rose; sons, Calvin P. Odom and George E. Poling; daughters, Linda R. White, Joyce A. Mooney, Glendora R. Boyer, Trina D. Waters; brothers, Paschal, Delma Ray, and Odell Odom; sister, Armilda; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday (today) at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road with Pastor Ron Baker of Russell Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park.
