Barbara Ann Althouse, 74, formerly of 126 N. Sterley Street, Shillington, died February 9, 2014 at 8:45 AM in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD, where she was a patient. Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harold L. and Ellen I. (Reed) Althouse. She was a branch manager for the former Shillington Savings & Loan, later Fulton Bank. Prior to retiring, she was the manager at the branch located in The Highlands of Wyomissing. She was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and volunteered at the Mifflin Community Library. She was a former member of St. Luke's E.C. Church, Shillington, and more recently a member of First Baptist Church of Paramount, Hagerstown, MD. She is survived by her brother and his wife and her sister. She is also survived by 3 nieces, 2 nephews and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Wyomissing Cemetery, Gouglersville. Pastor Barry S. Zimmerman will officiate. Please remember Barbara by making contributions to the American Cancer Society , 498 Bellevue Avenue, Laureldale, PA 19605. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington, is assisting the Althouse family.
