Oath of allegiance was given to Thomas Alvord at Northampton, 8 Feb. 1678.

He was a tailor. His homestead No. 26 was first assigned to William Smead in 1676 and was in the family of Thomas Alvord until 1725. It was the Dr. Hunt Place. His widow remarried 1690 Samuel King (son of John), whom she outlived and 26 Nov. 1702 married Deliverance Bridgeman. In 1724-5, when her son Thomas sold the homestead, she, with her husband Deliverance Bridgman, relinquished their right. Her father, John Tayor, was killed in the the present limits of Easthampton, while going to the rescue of those captured in the "Pascommuck Massacre".

Thomas fought under Capt. Wm. Turner in the Falls Fight, 19 May 1676. For this service, his son Thomas, as eldest male heir received from The General Court of Mass. in 1734, a grand of land in Fallstown (now Bernardston).

An inventory of the estate of Thomas Alvord was presented by Lt. John Taylor, 10 Aug. 1688. It shows a house and land valued at 50 pounds, pasture land over the river 18 pounds, 2 cows, horse, swine, shears, pressing-iron, lamp, smoothing irons, saddle and bridle, curtains and bedding, slice tongs, hand irons, gun, cutlass, hoes, axes, pewter and brass, 4 chairs and cushion, table, chest, boxes, warming-pan, grid-iron, candlesticks, etc.

Samuel King, who married his widow, prayed the court that he might have use of the whole estate, that he might bring up the children. Estate was valued at 155 Pounds. Samuel was granted use of the real estate and money for "moveables" for bringing up the three children.
