AZLE - Kenneth R. Benoy, 86, of Azle died Monday, June 20, 2011.
Service: A memorial gathering for Kenneth Benoy will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, June 27, at O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 South 11th St., Hudson, Wis.
Ken served in the Army in the Philippines during World War II as a tractor driver in Company A of the 658th Amphibious Tractor Battalion. Ken worked in the construction trade as a brick layer, and was a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1 of Texas, Louisiana and New Mexico. Ken will be remembered for his hard work and honesty, and his love of family.
In similar fashion of the famed Will Rogers, Ken would say to all of you, "Adios. I have gone to where the horses and dogs go."
Ken was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Lois; his sister, Kathleen McCarthy; and son-in-law, Richard Sherley.
Survivors: His daughter, Michelle Sherley of Hudson, Wis.; sons, William Benoy (Jo Evelyn) of Burleson and Michael Benoy of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Kenneth Prater (Kara), Shellye Cobb (William), Shirley Benoy, Krissy Phillips (Scott); eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Harriet Pinnock and Marilyn Strandquist (Jim); brother, LaVerne Benoy (Donna); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
