"Mr. Luning
Richard Earl Luning, 57, of Lometa died Nov. 23, 2002, at Baylor Medical Center in Garland.
Funeral services are Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Lometa with the Rev. George Fischer officiating. Burial will follow at Senterfitt Cemetery at Lometa.
Mr. Luning was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Clifton, the son of Johnnie J. and Meta Mildred Massier Luning.
He married Sandra Schulz on June 10, 1967, in Coryell City.
Mr. Luning was a signal maintainer for Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe Railroad. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He had been a Lometa resident since December 1972. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Lometa.
He is survived by his wife of Lometa; two sons and their wives, Brian and Lynn Luning, of Gatesville, and Jeff and Deanna Luning, of Sachse; brothers, Johnny Luning Jr., of Waco, James Luning, of McGregor, and Vernon Luning, of Conroe; and four grandchildren, Sara Luning, of Sachse, Cara, Layne and Cole Lovorn, all of Gatesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
