"Sarah Belle (Sallie) Anderson was given the nickname "Sunshine", because her father, John W. Anderson, knew and was friendly with Jimmy Davis, the "singing governor of Texas" who wrote his own campaign song, "You are My Sunshine." Sallie married Rev.Raymond Miller who replaced her dad as preacher in Goose Creek, but later divorced him.

Married first to Rev. Robert Miller.
Married second to ( ) McCain.
Known as Sarah Belle Anderson as well as Sarah Bernice Anderson, Sallie Anderson, Bernice A. McCain.

WHEREAS, The first church building was established 1-19 July 15, 1918, at the corner of Texas Avenue and Second 1-20 Street; after the death of the Reverend Anderson in 1923, 1-21 the church was pastored by Robert M. "Bob" Miller who married 1-22 the Reverend Anderson's daughter, Sallie Burince Anderson;

From State of Texas Resolution, hereby certify that the above Resolution was adopted by the Senate on February 25, 1993, for the 75th anniversary of Memorial Baptist Church, Baytown, TX.
