Betty L. Burkett, 71, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away 8:37 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Parkview Regional Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Emma, Ky., to Elkana and Louverna (Osborn) Sexton. She was united in marriage to Donald Burkett in Floyd County, Ky., on Aug. 3, 1959.

She was a 47-year resident of Kosciusko County and formerly resided in Floyd County. Donald preceded her in 2002. She is retired from Stonehenge Golf Course where she was employed as a Cook and is a member of the Harvest Community Church, Pierceton.

Survivors include daughters: Donna (Robert) Tusing, Mesquite, Texas; Annie (Mandy) Espinoza; Mary Alley; son: Jerry Burkett, Pierceton; five brothers; four sisters; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by three brothers and one sister.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel Warsaw.
