Geneva Allene Arnold-Pence, age 74, of Granite City, Il., passed away on February 12, 2014 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Il. Geneva was born on February 12, 1940 in Wayne County, Tn., a daughter to the late Russell "J.T.." and Hazel (Haddock) Staggs Sr.
Geneva was an owner and operator of a daycare for many years in Granite City, she was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Granite City as well. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren whom she adored. Geneva will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence and one brother, Harry Glen Staggs.
She is survived by her loving children, Tammy Jackson, Jeff (Pam) Arnold, Shelly (George) Smith all of Granite City, Il.and Clint (Charlene) North of Troy, Il, loving grandmother of Stephhanie, Honesty, Amber, Caleb, Christian, Colin and Shayla; eight dear great-grandchildren; four brothers, Russell Staggs Jr. of Granite City, Il.,Charles (Ruth) Staggs of Chadwick's,N Y, Wayne (Rosie) Staggs of Roxana, Il., and Johnny Staggs of Granite City, Il..; three sisters, Wanda (Dennis) Bucklew of Troy, Il., Sharon Risinger of Granite City, Il. and Patti (Jim) Gibson of Iron City, Tn; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City,Il.
In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Irwin Chapel, Granite City, Il., with Pastor Bill Davison officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Il.
