John L. Carrabis, of Saugus, died at the Hathorne Hill Genesis Healthcare in Danvers at the age of 88. John was born & raised in Everett and a graduate of Everett High School. He resided in Everett until 1965 and Saugus for most of his life. John worked as a Postal Worker for the U.S. Postal Service in South Boston for 30 years before his retirement that the age of 64. He loved fishing, fixing cars and was always well dressed & polished. John adored & loved spending his time with his grandchildren & family. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy E. (Adams) Carrabis. Loving father of Beverlee Loeser & her husband Jeff of Saugus and Leslie Renaud & her husband Brian of S. Hamilton. Cherished grandfather of Grace, Paige, Sara and Brayden. Caring brother of Alfred and the late James, Joseph, Anthony & Helen Carrabis, Mary DeLeo, Anne Infurno, Carmella Barrasso, Florence Gagliardi and Lillian Riley. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and his four legged fury buddy "Oscar". A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Feb. 14th at 11AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service from 9-11 AM. Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
