He married Virginia Clark on June 24, 1966 in Comstock, MI. Darryl served his country honorably in both the Marines and the Air Force from 1955 to 1961. He worked very hard his entire life to provide for his wife and daughters. He could talk to anyone who would listen and loved to tell stories that reflected on the joys and craziness of life. He adored his grandchildren more than life itself and simply wanted to add pleasure to every situation. He was a patriot, serviceman, fisherman and hunter. He loved finishing his career serving the Army Corps of Engineers with his wife in Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky from 2006-2012.
He is survived by his loving family, wife Virginia Arseneaux; daughters, Penny Louise Arseneaux Kerstra and husband Tim, Ninette A. Arseneaux Hutchinson and husband James W., Debra Arseneaux Stewart and husband Dr. Greg, Jessalynn Arseneaux Colbert and husband Cory; sister, Mary Alice "Pinky" Idiaquez and husband James; grandchildren, Amberle Kirkstra Culver and husband Matt, Hilary Kerstra, Brennan Kerstra, Elyse Hutchinson, Mikhayla Hutchinson and Ansley Hutchinson, RaeLeigh Stewart, Tyler Sidney Stewart, Devon Leon Stewart, Mason Colbert and Adler Colbert.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Marilyn Hirsch, Allen Arseneaux and Warren Arseneaux.
A graveside service and military honors will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
