EDWARD D., age 75, died February 7, 2014 in Virginia Beach, VA. Born in Phila., PA to James Patrick McHale and Mary Catharine Park. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the US Navy in 1976. He began a second career as a maintenance supervisor at area hotels and apartments. He enjoyed woodworking, playing games on the computer and taking care of his family. His loved ones always enjoyed his lighthearted pranks. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Marian Harkins McHale of Virginia Beach, daughter Elaine McHale (Robyne Doten) of Fairfax, VA, son Joseph McHale (Sara Ashmore) of Portland, OR, grandsons Joseph Doten and Ian Doten, sister Veronica Berg of Denver, CO and brother Jack McHale (Joan) of Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael McHale, his daughter, Susan Robin McHale, and brother James McHale. Relatives and friends are invited to offer condolences to his family on Thurs. 9 - 10 A.M. at St. Katherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 9700 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA. Funeral Mass 10 A.M.
