ORANGE CITY - Jean Rucker Kent Williams, 78, of Pine View Drive, died Jan. 23, 2008, at the West Volusia Hospice Center in Orange City. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the West Volusia Hospice Center, 1625 Veterans Memorial Parkway in Orange City. Burial will be in the Trinity Episcopal Churchyard in Lynchburg, Va., at a later date.
Born in Beckley, W.Va., Mrs. Williams taught school in West Palm Beach and was a real-estate broker in Altamonte Springs.
She graduated from Margaret Hall High School in Versailles, Ky., the University of Kentucky, Lynchburg College in Virginia, and Concord University in West Virginia.
Mrs. Williams was a member of an Episcopal church in Hendersonville, N.C., and the American Contract Bridge League, a former member of The Meriwether Society, the Rucker Family Society, and the Davies Family of "Pebbleton," and an avid bridge player.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth R. Kent of Orange City and Fredrick A. Williams of Largo; one daughter, Susan Kent Miller and her husband, Frank, of Orange City; one sister, Anne Rucker Loyd and her husband, Samuel A., of Waynesboro, Va., and Lynchburg; and four grandchildren, April J. Miller and Michael K. Miller, both of Orange City, Jamie A. Williams of Clearwater, and Caelan Williams of Largo.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O. Box 549, Daytona Beach, FL 32115, or to Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 3278, Lynchburg, VA 24503. Deltona Memorial was in charge.
