GATE CITY, Va. - Verney S. Lane , 80, Route 1, Manville Road, died Wednesday (Oct. 28, 1998) at her residence.
She was a native of Scott County, Va., a homemaker and was a Christian.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Hammonds; her second husband, Mitchell Ramey; third husband, Charlie Lane ; infant daughter, Jacquolene Hammonds; parents, Creed and Martha Carter Lane ; and brothers, Wrightly Lane and Dewey Lane .
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Roy (Viola) Jennings, East Carters Valley, Gate City, Va.; and two brothers, Willie Lane , Hiltons, Va., and Alfred Lane , Gate City, Va.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va.
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Claude Lane officiating. Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Carter Cemetery, Route 1, Gate City, Va. Family and friends will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Junior Lane , Billy Lane , Donald Lane , Johnny Lane , Raymond Lane , Kermit Lane , Paul Jennings, R.C. Lane and Kenneth Lane .
