Joseph Grondin, reported to be the first white child born in Brainerd, died this morning in the Collette Rest Home after a long illness. He became critically ill about three weeks ago.
Mr. Grondin, who made his home in West Brainerd, was born Feb. 16, 1873.
Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. William Nelson, Mrs. Clara Britton, Miss Jennie Grondin, Mrs. John Cox and Mrs. Belle Forcier, all of Brainerd, and three brothers, Frank Grondin, Eau Claire, Wis., Edward and William Grondin of Brainerd.
