Mrs. Elizabeth Durham, an old resident of Brainerd, Minn., passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 14. Mrs. Durham had been in poor health for the past six years, but in the last few months had been daily sinking at times, suffering greatly.
On Monday all pain left her, she spoke a few words to her daughter and fell into a sleep from which she did not waken.
A short time ago she went to Shakopee, Minn., in search of health, but became dissatisfied and came home not much improved. The deceased was born at Hemmingford, P. Q., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Weir, June 8, 1852, and on April 23, 1877 was married to Wm. Durham, of Champlain, N. Y. They moved to Brainerd thirty-one years ago and bought a farm about three miles southeast of the city where Mrs. Durham has resided ever since.
Her husband died eighteen years ago leaving her with four small children, the oldest being fourteen years, and the youngest, a girl, only two weeks old.
The sons are W. E. Durham, C. P. Durham and Ralph Durham and one daughter, Susie M., who has faithfully attended her during all of her sickness. She also leaves four sisters and one brother and an aged mother who resides in Mooers, N. Y., with the brother, Henry S. Weir.
The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the Presbyterian church, Rev. W. J. Lowrie conducting the services. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery beside her late husband.
