Alson Williams "Will" Brock was the oldest of three sons born to Louisa Williams and Sidney Gorham Brock. Will and "Mamie" Dysart married in 1890 when he was 23. Just five years later, Will fell down some stairs at his parents' home in Macon, Missouri and died. Will and Mamie's only child, Emma Louise, was three and a half years old at the time of his death.

The obituary for Will said he "was educated at Dupauw University" in Green Castle, Indiana." He was the editor and publisher of the Macon Republican.
