James Wilson Penrose of Shelocta, Indiana County, died at the home of his nephew, Thomas Montgomery, 7:10 am today. He has made his home with his nephew but formerly lived in Derry. He was 88 years of age Feb 21.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Agnes Penrose, and the following children: Mrs. D.A. Thomas, of Derry; Mrs. W. St. Clair, of Bridgewater; Mrs. Paul Henise, of Johnstown; Mrs. Floyd Minick, Hiram A. Penrose and Albert J Penrose, all of Derry. Three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Bundy, of Derry, Mrs, Mary Stewart, of Jeannette,; and Mrs. Flora Hefflefinger, of Latrobe, also survive. Friends will be received at the Chas. Hughes Funeral Home, Derry.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 from the Hughes Funeral Home, Third Avenue, Derry, in charge of the Rev. R.E. Spangler, pastor of the Methodist Church, Derry. Interment will be made in Coles Cemetary, Derry.
